The Norwegian defense has clarified that these vessels were granted permission to seek shelter from the inclement weather. According to Norwegian regulations, fishing boats are permitted to find refuge during severe storms and are directed to designated safe harbors. Authorities have reassured the public that they maintain close monitoring of maritime traffic along the coast.
