Working Conditions Aboard the Kapitan-Bogomolov

On September 11, 2018, a devastating fire erupted in the engine room of the trawler 'Kapitan Bogomolov' at precisely 10:05 a.m. The vessel was stationed next to the reefer ship 'Saronic Breeze' (IMO: 9041540) at the Dakhla anchorage when the incident occurred. Despite the crew's valiant efforts to extinguish the flames, the fire was not fully controlled until 11 a.m., resulting in the tragic loss of two crew members during the firefighting operation. Following this unfortunate event, 'Kapitan Bogomolov' made its way to Las Palmas on October 18 and departed on November 2, setting sail toward the North Atlantic.
