The tankers 'Cosmo Sail' and 'Kartha', transporting Russian Urals crude, have updated their destination details from Sikka. Initially, the 'Cosmo Sail' was set to arrive at Sikka with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) of December 29, 2025, and was linked to the Jamnagar refinery operated by Reliance Industries Ltd. However, shortly thereafter, the vessel altered its course to deliver its cargo at a nearby single-point mooring facility owned by Bharat Petroleum Corp. Similarly, the 'Kartha', which had indicated Sikka as its destination on December 31, 2025, redirected to the Vadinar port, reaching the Rosneft Nayara Refinery on January 6, 2026. In total, at least three tankers had previously pointed towards Reliance’s port and refinery, transporting nearly 2.2 million barrels of Urals crude. On January 6, Reliance Industries publicly stated that claims regarding oil shipments to Jamnagar were entirely unfounded, as the refinery has not received any crude shipments from Russia in the last three weeks and does not anticipate any deliveries in January. Furthermore, another vessel, the 'Vokki', is currently navigating off the coast of Oman while still signaling Sikka as its destination.

On June 12, 2018, the oil tanker 'Seamagic', en route from Ust-Luga to Houston, made a critical detour to Bermuda for a medical emergency. The vessel, which was expected to arrive at the east end during the night, was tasked with disembarking a 41-year-old Filipino crew member in urgent need of medical assistance. A pilot boat was dispatched to facilitate the transfer of the patient ashore, emphasizing the importance of maritime safety and timely medical intervention at sea.
