The Greek tanker Kriti found itself disabled and adrift in the Mediterranean Sea on August 2, 2023. The vessel, which was on its way from Ain Sukhna, Egypt, to Canakkale in the Black Sea, experienced a significant engine failure. Reports from a nearby vessel indicate the tanker was in a precarious situation off the Egyptian coast, raising concerns regarding its safety and potential environmental impact.

A vessel has been successfully sold to Greek investors for a total of $17.2 million. This acquisition highlights the ongoing interest of Greek buyers in the maritime market, continuing a trend of profitable transactions in the industry.

The bulk carriers 'Pacific Polaris' and 'Pacific Oasis,' each with a deadweight tonnage of 47,999 DWT and constructed in 2004 at the Iwagi shipyard in Japan, have been sold en bloc for a remarkable USD 23 million apiece. The transaction also includes a time charter agreement at a daily rate of $13,500, with the identity of the buyers remaining undisclosed.
