Working Conditions Aboard the Kriti-Admiral

In a recent maritime transaction, a ship has changed hands for an impressively low sum of just under $11 million. This sale reflects favorable market conditions allowing buyers to acquire quality vessels at competitive prices. Industry analysts anticipate that such transactions could stimulate further activity in the shipping sector, as more operators seek to capitalize on cost-effective purchases.

In a strategic move, Oslo-based Atlantica Shipping has finalized an agreement to purchase a duo of 2007-built MR1 product tankers from Latvia's Vitol Shipping Company. According to Allied Shipbroking, the tankers, named Krisjanis Valdemars and Kandava, each have a deadweight tonnage of 37,300 dwt and were constructed at the Hyundai Mipo shipyard. Currently, the vessels are under charter agreements, and the acquisition price has been set at $11.8 million per tanker. This price is slightly below the $12 million estimated value by MSI, and significantly less than the valuations from VesselsValue, which stand at $13.14 million and $12.74 million for the respective vessels.
