On November 10, 2025, the ferry 'Horizon 9' (IMO: 9732113), carrying 165 passengers and a crew of seven, was involved in a collision with the tanker 'La Digue' while navigating near Singapore's Southern Islands. The incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. as the ferry was making its way from Batam to the HarbourFront Centre in Singapore. Having left Batam’s Harbour Bay Terminal at 4:30 p.m., the ferry's journey took an unexpected turn. Fortunately, all 172 individuals on board were safely evacuated, thanks to the swift action of a patrol craft that was dispatched to guide the ferry to the Regional Ferry Terminal at the HarbourFront Centre after the collision. Despite sustaining some damage to its bow above the waterline, the ferry remained operational post-incident, while the tanker reported no damage. Notably, there was no disruption to navigational traffic or port operations in the area. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is currently conducting an investigation into the collision. As of November 11, the tanker was moored at position 01° 14' N 103° 44' E.
