In a strategic move to enhance its maritime operations, Italian shipping company Amoretti Armatori Group, led by the Amoretti family, has finalized the acquisition of two handysize tankers. This purchase effectively doubles the company’s footprint in the handysize segment. The deal involves the acquisition of two vessels from the Swedish shipping firm Rederi AB Gotland. Both tankers, with a deadweight tonnage of 39,000 dwt, were built in China. The vessels include the Alice, constructed in 2013, and her sister ship Ami, launched in 2012. The total transaction value for this en bloc acquisition amounts to $40 million.
