On August 23, 2020, at 8 a.m., a marine incident unfolded at Marbari Anchorage, situated south of Chittagong, where the cargo vessel 'Densa Panther' collided with the bulk carrier 'Archagelos Gabriel.' Both vessels were initially moored when the 'Archagelos Gabriel' experienced a serious malfunction. At 4:30 a.m., the vessel's anchor began to drag, eventually resulting in a collision after both anchors failed. The aftermath of the crash left the 'Densa Panther' with a significant hull breach on its port side. Despite the damage, the vessel maintained its position at anchor near the site of the incident. In response to the collision, the Bangladesh Coast Guard dispatched a patrol boat to the area, and the submarine 'Shyamal Bangla' was tasked with gathering information about the incident. By August 24, the 'Archagelos Gabriel' had successfully disengaged from the area and was reported traveling southwest towards Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.
