The Lesley-Ct: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On August 18, 2019, the CROSS AG responded urgently to an alarming report from the 'Heliconia Star', a patrol boat operated by the Montserrat Maritime Police. A sailboat was ablaze just five miles northwest of Montserrat, prompting immediate action. Upon arrival, no occupants were observed aboard the vessel, which was rapidly engulfed in flames. In response, the CROSS AG deployed the civil security helicopter, Dragon 971, from Guadeloupe, along with the patrol boat 'Violette' and the 'Lesley PG'. Despite the crew's valiant efforts to extinguish the fire, the fiercely burning boat sank at 2:30 a.m. Before long, the Dragon 971 managed to spot two individuals in an inflatable boat nearby. The 'Heliconia Star' swiftly changed course to rescue the castaways, who were subsequently taken for medical attention at the Montserrat hospital. Tragically, one of those rescued succumbed to severe burns sustained during the incident later that morning.
