Teen Arrested After Violent Incident on Bahamas Cruise
An 18-year-old from North Carolina, identified as Michael White, was apprehended following a shocking attack that left another cruise passenger unconscious during a four-night journey to the Bahamas aboard the 'Liberty of the Seas'. The cruise ship set sail from Port Everglades on April 14, 2025, and returned to Florida on April 18. Tensions escalated when a male passenger and a woman confronted a rowdy group of youths who were jumping inside an elevator, causing it to sway dangerously. As the elevator reached the eighth floor, the victim and the woman attempted to exit, but they were blocked by the group. Once they managed to step outside, the victim reported being struck in the face multiple times, which caused him to stagger and fall to the ground. While he lay on the floor, he endured several kicks and eventually lost consciousness, later awakening in a pool of his own blood. Authorities identified White as one of the assailants, leading to his charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm. Another suspect was also taken into custody during the incident. Following his arrest, White was transported to the Broward County Jail. He was released on April 19 after posting a $5,000 bond.
Father Initiates Legal Action Against Royal Caribbean After Son Goes Missing from Cruise Ship
Francel Parker, the father of 20-year-old Levion Parker, has launched a lawsuit against Royal Caribbean following his sonโs mysterious disappearance from the 'Liberty of the Seas'. Levion was reported missing after jumping from the shipโs 11th deck in the early hours of April 4, 2023, while the vessel was 57 miles off the coast of Grand Inagua. According to Francel, who operates an AC business in Port Charlotte, Florida, he believes his son has the skills to survive given that he is a master diver who works on a commercial fishing boat. Additionally, Francel mentioned that multiple life rings were thrown to Levion following his jump. The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search operations for Levion on April 9, 2023, just five days after his plunge. Francel has voiced his outrage at Royal Caribbean for allegedly serving his son excessive amounts of alcohol, questioning how Levion was provided with drinks given that the legal drinking age on their cruises is 21. On the night of the incident, Francel saw Levion and his 18-year-old brother, Seth, just before the jump, emerging from a hot tub around 3:30 a.m. Levion reportedly told his father, 'I'll fix this right now,' before leaping from the window in front of other passengers. The 'Liberty of the Seas' was on a four-day cruise and was only hours away from returning to Fort Lauderdale when the tragedy occurred.
US Coast Guard Halts Search for Overboard Passenger from 'Liberty of the Seas'
The U.S. Coast Guard has officially suspended its search efforts for Levion Parker, a 20-year-old American who tragically fell overboard from the cruise ship 'Liberty of the Seas' on April 4, 2023. This incident took place around 4 a.m. while the vessel was navigating near the Bahamas. Parker reportedly jumped during a heated argument with his father, just after emerging from a crowded hot tub. The 'Liberty of the Seas', which had departed from Fort Lauderdale on April 1 for a four-day Caribbean cruise, was nearing the end of its journey when Levion was seen in distress. According to eyewitnesses, Parker warned his father, 'I'll fix this right now,' before leaping through a window, approximately 57 miles off Grand Inagua. Immediately after the incident, the cruise ship initiated a search and rescue operation. However, by 9 a.m., the search was handed over to the U.S. Coast Guard cutter 'Seneca', which subsequently resumed its route. The Coast Guard has since confirmed the cessation of search efforts, signaling a heart-wrenching conclusion to this tragic event.
