Logos Hope and Desert Osprey Collision on the River Parana

On June 26, 2023, the passenger cruise ship Logos Hope (IMO: 12519 gt, built in 1973) experienced a minor collision with the bulk carrier Desert Osprey (IMO: 31848 gt, built in 2015) while navigating downstream at the 408-kilometer mark of the River Parana in Argentina. Fortunately, initial reports indicate that both vessels sustained no significant damage to their hulls. Following the incident, the Naval Prefecture initiated an inspection of both ships to determine their seaworthiness. While some minor damages were reported, they are not deemed serious at this stage, ensuring that both vessels remain safe for continued operations.

Logos Hope Arrives at Tema Port for Exciting Book Fair

The MV Logos Hope, renowned as the world’s largest floating book fair, made its much-anticipated return to Ghana on Wednesday, docking at the Tema Port. This marks the vessel's second visit to the country, where it will unveil a captivating 31-day book fair starting at the Clinker Ghacem Gate. Aboard are approximately 400 dedicated Christian volunteers hailing from 60 different countries, ready to share the joy of reading. After its stop in Tema, the ship is scheduled to sail on October 2, 2016, heading to Takoradi, where another engaging book fair will take place from October 6 to October 23, 2016. The Takoradi fair will be open Monday through Saturday before the Logos Hope sets course for the Caribbean, promoting literacy and cultural exchange throughout its journey.
