The vessel chose to remain at sea as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew amidst the storm's forecast.

In a maritime incident that occurred on April 20, 2022, the cargo vessel M/V 'Tropic Freedom' (IMO: 9809928) collided with the concrete pier at the bustling port of Freeport, Bahamas. Following the allision, the ship came into contact with the docked cruise liner 'Mariner of the Seas'. The impact resulted in a notable hole in the railings on deck five of the 'Mariner of the Seas' from the bridge wing of the 'Tropic Freedom', which also sustained some damage during the encounter. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of this occurrence. Both vessels successfully resumed their operations and departed the port the same day, ensuring minimal disruption in vessel traffic.

In light of Hurricane Dorian's path toward Florida, two more cruises have been called off. The 'Grand Celebration', which was scheduled to sail from Palm Beach to Freeport on September 5, has been scrapped, marking the third cancellation for the cruise line amid the hurricane's approach. Additionally, the 'Mariner of the Seas', previously set to depart Port Canaveral on September 2, has also been cancelled after being postponed by two days. The vessel was slated to return from its August 30 voyage on Wednesday but is now rescheduled to dock back on September 5.
