Marvea Tanker Fined for Breaching Georgian Navigation Regulations
The tanker 'Marvea' faced a substantial fine for contravening navigation regulations while docked at a Georgian port. After its arrival at Poti Anchorage on May 13, 2019, at precisely 1:20 p.m., the vessel was anchored at coordinates 42°11'28" N, 41°36'02" E. The incident led to a fine of 50,000 Georgian Lari, equivalent to around US$18,000, which was paid before the vessel was allowed to continue its journey. The following day, on May 14 at 5:15 a.m., the 'Marvea' departed Poti and successfully moored at Kulevi, which is located at coordinates 42°16'29" N, 41°38'13" E.
