On October 8, 2020, the U.S. Coast Guard successfully conducted a medical evacuation of two crew members from the tanker 'Morholmen', which was traveling from Houston to Galveston approximately 25 miles off the coast of Freeport, Texas. At 1:20 p.m., the vessel's captain reported urgent medical situations involving a 29-year-old crew member suffering from abdominal pain and a 57-year-old crew member exhibiting stroke-like symptoms. The Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders promptly contacted the duty flight surgeon, who advised that both individuals required immediate medevac assistance. A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene. The helicopter crew successfully hoisted both crew members on board and flew them to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Houston, where they were met by emergency medical personnel. Both individuals were reported to be in stable condition following the evacuation.
