MSC Magnifica Set to Resume 7-Night Cruises from Italy Starting August 22, 2020
Starting August 22, 2020, the 'MSC Magnifica' will embark on exciting 7-night cruise itineraries from Bari and Trieste, including stops at beautiful locations such as Corfu, Katakolon, and Piraeus. Following a temporary suspension of its cruise operations due to the global health pandemic, MSC Cruises has been diligently preparing for a safe return to the seas. MSC has developed a robust health and safety protocol that aligns with, and even exceeds, the recommendations outlined by prominent health authorities like the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). These new procedures will be implemented both prior to and upon boarding the vessel. Key safety measures include comprehensive health screenings for all guests, which require a health questionnaire sent with the cruise tickets, along with contactless temperature checks and COVID-19 testing. Enhanced sanitation protocols will also be introduced, featuring electrostatic sprayers for disinfection of surfaces and the use of hospital-grade disinfectants. Throughout the cruise, daily contactless temperature checks will ensure the well-being of all passengers. To promote safety, 'MSC Magnifica' will introduce smaller group activities, debuting themed events, family-friendly games, and talent shows for guest enjoyment. Meal service will adapt to respect social distancing guidelines, with all food being served directly to guests' tables. The buffet restaurant will temporarily halt self-service, opting instead for plated meal service. For shore excursions, guests will be required to book through MSC to allow for safe disembarking. From August 1 to September 30, MSC will reach out to existing bookings to provide information about the new itineraries. Please note that the rebooking option is available exclusively for residents of Schengen countries.
