The cruise ship was navigating approximately 35 miles off the Brindisi coastline when the Brindisi Coastguard was alerted for assistance. A patrol boat was promptly dispatched to facilitate the medevac operation. The ship's medical personnel were quick to respond to the situation, providing essential care, complemented by remote guidance from the Centro Internazionale Radio Medico, which coordinated the patient's diagnosis and subsequent transfer to medical facilities. Once the patrol boat safely reached the dock at the Port Authority, an ambulance was on standby to expedite the passenger’s transport. The patient was swiftly conveyed to Perrino Hospital in Brindisi for further treatment, highlighting the effective collaboration between maritime and healthcare services in emergency situations.
