Royal Dutch Shell has officially welcomed its inaugural LNG bunker ship, named Cardissa, to the bustling port of Rotterdam. This significant milestone marks a step towards greener maritime operations as the vessel is designated to supply cleaner-burning marine fuel to various ships. Constructed by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding in South Korea, Cardissa is equipped with advanced Wärtsilä DF dual-fuel engines, ensuring efficient and sustainable performance. The Cardissa will serve as a crucial link in providing LNG fuel to vessels throughout Northwest Europe, utilizing the LNG breakbulk terminal and jetty at Gate’s facility in Rotterdam.
