On April 11, 2024, an unfortunate maritime incident occurred when the cargo ship m/v 'Everwin 11' (IMO: 8630992) allided with the 'Oak Express' at the Landoor Pier in Mabini, Batangas. The 'Oak Express' was securely docked when the 'Everwin 11' struck its port quarter, primarily due to the impact of strong sea currents and gusty winds that caused the vessel to lose control during its maneuvering. This collision resulted in significant damage to the tanker, including noticeable dents, scratches, and punctured port quarter plating. As of April 25, the 'Everwin 11' continues to be held under the supervision of the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog, ensuring safety protocols are followed. The 'Oak Express' successfully departed Batangas on April 23 at 11:35 AM UTC, bound for Shekou.
