In a remarkable achievement, Oman Dry Dock Company (ODDC) has finalized the conversion of the Greek vessel ‘Olympic Leopard’, transforming it from an iron ore and oil carrier into a fully operational oil tanker. This accomplishment marks the second successful conversion for the Greek firm Springfield Shipping Company at the Duqm Dry Dock. The ambitious project took just three months to complete, during which an impressive workforce of 500 dedicated professionals utilized 2,000 tonnes of iron to execute the transformation. Dimitris Patrikios, general manager of Springfield Shipping Company, received the ship upon completion and commended the high-quality workmanship throughout the conversion, echoing similar sentiments expressed earlier this year regarding the conversion of the ‘Olympic Luck’ at the same facility.
