On October 1, 2020, at 12:25 p.m., the cargo vessel Opaline encountered a malfunction with its main engine safety valve while navigating from Rotterdam to Leixoes. With a crew of 20 and loaded with 7,585 tonnes of cargo, the ship was positioned at coordinates 51°20'55" N and 001°50'51" E at the time of the issue. The dedicated crew promptly initiated repairs during their passage through the Dover Strait traffic separation scheme. Throughout this transit, the Solent maintained oversight of the vessel's journey. Opaline is scheduled to arrive at its destination in Leixoes on October 5.

On February 26, 2019, at 7:20 a.m., the cargo vessel 'Opaline,' which was on a journey from Rozenburg to Killingholme and had a crew of 22 aboard, encountered injector and engine malfunctions. This incident occurred approximately 28 miles off Spurn Head, specifically at coordinates 53° 24.13'N, 000° 49.11'E. In response to the mechanical difficulties, the ship anchored and awaited assistance from the tugboat 'Nobleman.' Later that evening, at 7:40 p.m., the 'Opaline' successfully docked at the roro terminal in North Killingholme Haven, Immingham, marking the end of its ordeal.

On October 24, 2018, the ferry 'Opaline', which was traveling from Zeebrugge to Purfleet, experienced a significant incident as it allided with the Linkspan. The occurrence took place at coordinates 51°28'06.6" N and 000°15'17.4" E. As a result of the collision, the vessel sustained a two-square-meter hole located two feet above the waterline on its port side. Additionally, a second allision on the starboard side caused a smaller breach. Despite the damages, the 'Opaline' successfully navigated to Purfleet, arriving at 9:15 p.m. and subsequently docking at berth 44 in Tilbury at 10:00 p.m. Fortunately, there were no reports of pollution stemming from the incident.
