On October 10, 2023, a medical emergency unfolded aboard the 'OWL 6', which was sailing from Pascagoula to Algeciras. The vessel's crew urgently requested a medical evacuation for a crew member who sustained a serious eye injury while at sea. In response, the Centro de Coordinación de Salvamento Marítimo (CCS) Algeciras swiftly deployed the search and rescue (SAR) vessel 'Salvamar Denébola' to assist. The SAR team successfully retrieved the injured crew member and transported him to Saladillo, where an ambulance was on standby to facilitate his transfer to a hospital for immediate medical attention and further care.

On July 31, 2020, the oil tanker 'Venlo' encountered trouble while navigating towards the Kuntuala Terminal near Boma, Congo, when it ran aground. The incident occurred as the vessel was unintentionally steered 200 meters off course, deviating from the navigation buoy's path. This mishap marked the second time in just two months that a tanker faced grounding in this region, a troubling trend attributed to river pilots reportedly disregarding crucial marker buoys. Following the grounding, the 'Venlo' managed to drop anchor off the coast of Lome on August 8. Prior to this incident, in June, another tanker, the 'Sea Force', required assistance from a tugboat dispatched from Pointe Noire to successfully refloat it off a sandbank near Boma.
