A significant maritime incident occurred on the evening of March 30, 2016, at 8:20 PM when the bulk carrier 'Yeoman Bridge' collided with the berthed tanker m/v 'Peary Spirit' in the Elbe Port of Brunsbüttel. The impact resulted in a breach of the hull on the tanker, measuring approximately 25 to 30 meters in length and located about nine meters above the water line. Fortunately, the unloading operation was promptly halted, and no gas was reported to have leaked from the vessel. The 'Yeoman Bridge,' which had set sail from Glensanda on March 27, also sustained damage above the water line during the allision. Following the incident, the 'Peary Spirit,' which had arrived from Teesport, departed from Brunsbüttel on April 1, en route to Fayard Yard in Odense for necessary repairs.
