In a significant move for offshore decommissioning, Allseas has secured a contract with Aker BP to dismantle three offshore platforms alongside two jackets in Norway. As part of the contract, Allseas will handle the removal of the Drilling Platform (DP) featuring 5,950 tons of topsides and a 4,350 tons jacket, as well as the Production and Compression Platform (PCP) weighing 10,900 tons for the topsides and 9,500 tons for the jacket. Additionally, they will decommission the Hod field, where the 1,100 tons Hod topsides and its 3,500 tons jacket are situated, approximately 13 kilometers south of the Valhall complex. This contract marks another step forward in Aker BP's ongoing partnership with Allseas, stemming from a framework agreement established in 2017 that tasks the company with transport, installation, and decommissioning services for the Valhall oil field. The operations are slated to commence between 2021 and 2026, with the water depth in the area reaching approximately 70 meters. Preparations for the platform removals are set to kick off later in 2020 and will continue into the 2021 lifting season. Furthermore, Aker BP has opted to include the decommissioning of the Valhall Quarters Platform (QP) jacket and the 2/4-G jacket located on the Ekofisk field, situated 24 kilometers north of Valhall, under this agreement. This decision is related to the previous 2017 contract for the removal of the QP topsides, successfully executed by the Pioneering Spirit in June 2019.

In a significant development in the North Sea, Allseas has officially landed a contract with Repsol Norge to facilitate the complete removal and disposal of the Gyda platform. This extensive project, located in the Norwegian North Sea, encompasses both the topsides and jacket of the platform. Additionally, the agreement includes options for the potential reinstallation of the structure in another field, alongside the removal and disposal of the jacket's 32 conductors. The planned timeline for the removal operations is set between late 2020 and 2023.
