On the morning of August 11, 2021, the Port Authority of Thessaloniki received reports of an allision involving the vessel 'Providence' as it was departing from the port. The ship made slight contact with the berthed tug 'Megalochari XII' (IMO: 9248734), resulting in damage to the tug's starboard side. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or pollution stemming from the incident. In response, the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki initiated a preliminary investigation and prohibited the tug from sailing until it presents a valid certificate of seaworthiness from the relevant classification society. Following the incident, the 'Thessaloniki' safely berthed in Alexandroupolis on August 12.

On June 14, 2018, at 2:00 AM, the cargo vessel 'Providence', which was traveling in ballast from Nea Karvali to Capu Midia, experienced an unexpected engine failure while navigating the Istanbul Strait at the Kanlica point. In response to the emergency, the coastal safety tug 'Kurtarma 7' was dispatched along with a specialized technical team to ensure both the safety of the vessel and the uninterrupted flow of strait traffic. After assessing the situation, the tug successfully escorted the Providence to a safe mooring at Pasabahce anchorage. In light of the incident, the strait authority revoked the vessel’s passage permission until the necessary permanent reparations were completed. Additionally, the Providence faced a financial penalty for breaching Istanbul Strait safe navigation regulations, as well as incurring costs associated with the tug's attendance. The crew commenced repairs immediately following the mishap, and by June 15 at 3:50 PM, the vessel managed to secure a berth in Capu Midia. Following the repair work, the Providence continued its journey, reaching Nea Karvali on June 18 at 11:20 PM, and departed again on June 19 at 5:60 AM, this time setting sail for Alexandria.
