In a significant transaction valued at USD 803 million, Scorpio Tankers has entered into an agreement to acquire a fleet of vessels from Trafigura Maritime Logistics. This deal encompasses the purchase of four LR2 vessels, constructed by New Times in China, along with 15 MR2 vessels built by Hyundai-Vinashin in Vietnam. The financial aspects of the deal breakdown to USD 668 million in cash, coupled with 4.7 million shares priced at $29.00 each. The vessels included in this acquisition are as follows: 'Marlin Lavender' (built in 2019), 'Marlin Lily' (2019), 'Marlin Lobelia' (2018), 'Marlin Lotus' (2018), and an additional 15 MR2s such as 'Marlin Magic' (2018), 'Marlin Magnetic' (2019), 'Marlin Majestic' (2018), and more, totaling 15 vessels. Notably, all these ships are equipped with scrubbers, reflecting a modern approach to environmental compliance. This strategic acquisition strengthens Scorpio Tankers' position in the market and enhances their operational capacity.
