In a concerning maritime security breach, the ReCAAP reported that on May 30, 2011, at approximately 0129 hours, the Singapore-registered tanker Dong Jiang, with IMO number 9468815, was targeted by a gang of six robbers. The vessel was operating about 30 nautical miles east of Horsburgh Lighthouse (coordinates: 01° 19.30' N, 104° 54.50' E) when the intruders boarded. During the incident, the robbers managed to steal cash and other personal valuables from the crew, who fortunately were unharmed.
