Armed Robbery Incident Involves Tanker 'Rose M' Off Apapa-Lagos
On the evening of October 6, 2019, the tanker 'Rose M' fell victim to an armed robbery while engaged in cargo operations at the Apapa-Lagos BOP Terminal. Around 10:30 PM, the vessel was approached by seven to eight armed assailants who arrived in two wooden boats. Alerted by the crew, the vessel's operations were promptly halted as the crew raised the alarm. In a tense confrontation, the robbers discharged their firearms towards the crew as they fled the scene with stolen goods taken from the terminal's manifolds. Fortunately, no crew members were injured during the incident. Following the robbery, the 'Rose M' departed from Apapa-Lagos on October 8 and successfully reached Bonny on October 12.
