Sea-Eye 4 Aids Migrants in Distress Off Malta
On May 12, the humanitarian vessel 'Sea-Eye 4' successfully rescued 24 migrants in the Maltese Search and Rescue (SAR) zone. The tanker 'Ross Sea', which was journeying from Sidi Kerir to Cherbourg, had been instructed only to monitor the situation following a distress call from the migrant boat. Later that night, the NGO ship reached the stranded migrants, who had embarked on their perilous journey from Benghazi on May 8. The group included individuals from various countries, including Egypt, Eritrea, Libya, Sudan, Syria, and Chad. With this latest rescue, the 'Sea-Eye 4', which had already saved 34 migrants on May 7, now carries a total of 58 people onboard.
