Italian-Built Nuclear Waste Vessel 'Rossita' Docks in Murmansk
The vessel 'Rossita', newly constructed in Italy, has officially docked at Rosatom's facility in Murmansk, as reported by the Barents Observer. This specialized ship is designated for the transportation of nuclear waste, including decommissioned submarine fuel. Having departed from the Fincantieri shipyard on July 30, 'Rossita' arrived at its destination in Murmansk on Monday, as confirmed by RIA Novosti. The new arrival is now anchored alongside Rosatomflot’s existing nuclear waste ship, 'Serebryanka'. The creation of 'Rossita' stemmed from a bilateral agreement between Russia and Italy, established in 2003, which focuses on nuclear safety and the dismantling of retired nuclear submarines. The designs for the vessel were developed by Russian experts. For more detailed information, visit http://www.barentsobserver.com/new-nuclear-waste-ship-arrived-in-murmansk.4948672-16178.html.
