Between April 19 and May 5, 2025, the ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ISC) documented four alarming cases of armed robbery targeting vessels in Asia, comprising three CAT 41 instances and one attempted incident. These acts transpired aboard ships navigating the eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) of the Singapore Strait, specifically near Pulau Cula, Indonesia. Fortunately, none of the crew members on board were harmed during these troubling episodes. Notably, at 2:55 a.m., four assailants stormed the vessel 'SMA' approximately 4.9 nautical miles off Pulau Cula, situated at coordinates 1° 3.28' N, 103° 37.95' E, where they made off with stolen engine spares.
