Earlier in September 2024, 'Scenic Eclipse' faced propulsion challenges, necessitating a repair that took place at the Gulf Copper shipyard in Galveston, Texas. Scenic Cruises collaborated with ABB to replace one of the vessel's critical Azipod propulsors, with the new unit transported by a chartered Antonov 124 aircraft. Unfortunately, these essential repairs led to the cancellation of three scheduled cruises, which included one to the Caribbean and two to South America. In response, Scenic Cruises provided alternative arrangements for affected travelers, ensuring that their vacation plans could still continue despite the temporary disruption.

On August 29, 2019, at 10:55 AM, the cruise ship Scenic Eclipse encountered a malfunction affecting its port side azimuth thruster while anchored off the picturesque coast of Tadoussac, Quebec, at coordinates 48°08.26'N and 069°42.59'W. In response to the mechanical issue, the vessel successfully navigated towards Havre St-Pierre, Quebec, relying solely on its starboard side thruster for propulsion. Following necessary repairs, Scenic Eclipse made port in Halifax on September 5 and set sail for Portland on September 6.
