On May 17, 2015, at 5:30 PM, the chemical tanker 'Scorpius' departed from the Statoil pier in Kalundborg. However, in the early hours of May 18, the vessel experienced a significant engine failure while navigating through the picturesque Oslo Fjord near Ellelykt. The tanker unexpectedly turned 180 degrees and found itself drifting perilously close to shore, just 200 meters south of Drøbak. Emergency protocols were swiftly activated, and the lifeboat 'Bergesen D.Y' was dispatched to assist the stranded vessel. Fortunately, the tug 'Glytingen,' operated by Drøbak Marineservice, was the first to respond, managing to prevent the tanker from running aground on the Elleskjær rocks. The tug 'Bruse' was positioned nearby, ready to offer support. Meanwhile, the tug 'Baus' arrived on the scene at 11 AM and successfully towed the 'Scorpius' to safety, anchoring it in Oslo's Sjursøya port by approximately 5 PM.
