In an exciting development for maritime travel enthusiasts, Sea Cloud Cruises is set to welcome a new member to its fleet, the Sea Cloud Spirit, slated for launch in summer 2020. This stunning tall ship, designed to accommodate 136 guests, will be constructed by Metalships & Docks S.A.U. in Vigo, Spain, following in the nautical tradition of its sister vessels, Sea Cloud and Sea Cloud II. The Sea Cloud Spirit will be a magnificent sight on the open seas, adorned with 27 sails that total an impressive 4,000 square meters, combined with an eco-friendly diesel-electric engine to minimize environmental impact. The interiors of this majestic ship will be crafted by the Hamburg-based firm Partner Ship Design, focusing on elegant and classic lines, alongside premium furnishings, which will contribute to the luxurious atmosphere reminiscent of a private yacht. This new addition is sure to elevate the cruising experience for Sea Cloud’s discerning clientele.

The iconic tall ship, Sea Cloud (IMO 8843446), has made its grand return to Hamburg following a comprehensive six-month refurbishment at MWB Bremerhaven AG. Originally launched in 1931 by Fried. Krupp Germania Werft in Kiel, this stunning four-masted barque has undergone significant upgrades to comply with the latest SOLAS regulations. As Sea Cloud celebrates its 80th anniversary in Hamburg, it will also make its inaugural appearance at the Parade during the 822nd Hamburg Port Birthday festivities, scheduled from May 6 to May 8, 2011.
