The Sea-Panther: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On April 21, the tanker 'Sea Panther' was targeted by four armed assailants while navigating over 100 nautical miles south of Nigeria. The attackers sped towards the vessel in a dark-hulled boat and managed to board, remaining on the ship for nearly four hours. During this time, they stole various personal belongings and equipment from the tanker before making their escape. Thankfully, the captain and crew had taken essential safety precautions and immediately retreated to the citadel, a fortified safe area within the ship, where they stayed throughout the incident. There were indications that the pirates may have attempted to breach this secure area, hinting at possible kidnapping motives due to their prolonged presence aboard. Fortunately, the crew emerged unscathed. The 'Sea Panther' set sail from Lomé on April 20 and completed its journey to Douala on April 23, showcasing the resilience of maritime safety protocols in the face of piracy.
