Seabourn Venture Modifies Itinerary Due to Stabilizer Issues

Feb 18, 2025 11:17

The Seabourn Venture, which set sail from Ushuaia on February 11, 2025, has had to alter its itinerary owing to a stabilizer system failure identified by Seabourn’s technical crew. Although the vessel remains seaworthy, the stabilizer's malfunction has compelled a considerable change in its planned course. As a result, the ship will skip its originally scheduled stop at South Georgia, opting instead to immerse guests in the "Seabourn Antarctic Experience" for an extended ten days. Travelers will enjoy an additional five days in the breathtaking Antarctic Peninsula and two extra days in the picturesque Falkland Islands, enhancing the voyage's overall experience. This change allows for increased flexibility in exploration, including a potential journey south of the Antarctic Circle. The Fleet Operations Center is focused on arranging a route that ensures the most comfortable voyage possible, which may include further adjustments to optimize the crossing of the Drake Passage. To make amends for the alteration and inconvenience caused, Seabourn is extending a $1,000 refundable onboard credit to affected guests. Moreover, passengers will benefit from a Future Cruise Credit equivalent to 25% of their paid cruise fare, applicable to various expenses, including pre- and post-cruise packages.
