On December 4, 2011, at precisely 2:15 p.m., the KNRM Scheveningen received an urgent call for a medevac involving the tanker 'Mohegan' while it was en route to Dordrecht. A crew member on board fell seriously ill, prompting the captain to consult with a physician from the Medical Radio Service. Following this consultation, the 'Kitty Rose Male Nepveu,' a lifeboat, was dispatched to assist. The tanker was located approximately 18 nautical miles from the coast amidst challenging conditions, with strong winds reaching up to 7 on the Beaufort scale and rough sea state. By 3:15 p.m., the patient was successfully transferred to the 'Kitty Rose Male Nepveu.' While en route back to Scheveningen, the Coast Guard arranged for an ambulance to be on standby. The lifeboat returned to the KNRM pontoon at 4:00 p.m. The Ukrainian sailor underwent a thorough examination upon arrival before being transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
