Spasatel Kavdejkin: The Latest Addition to Russia's Salvage Fleet
On July 17, 2013, the Nevsky shipyard in St. Petersburg proudly delivered the Spasatel Kavdejkin, the second of three advanced multi-purpose salvage vessels designed under project MPSV07 for the Russian Ministry of Transport. This impressive vessel spans 73 meters and is engineered for an extensive array of tasks including towage, salvage operations, emergency response, and rescue missions. Capable of achieving a top speed of 15 knots and a substantial bollard pull of 70 tonnes, Spasatel Kavdejkin also boasts an operational endurance of 20 days. Its sister ship, the Spasatel Karev, was commissioned earlier in November 2012, while the third vessel, Spasatel Zaborschikov, is currently being constructed, marking a significant enhancement to Russia's maritime capabilities.
