On September 21, 2016, at approximately 7 a.m., a maritime collision occurred 30 kilometers off the coast of Oostende involving the fully loaded tanker m/v "Maistros" and the vessel "Ridgebury Kathrine Z." Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the 50 crew members aboard either ship. At the time of the incident, the "Ridgebury Kathrine Z" was in a stationary position and moored in the Westhinder anchorage area, while the "Maistros" was making its way from Asuleyh to Antwerp. The collision caused only material damage, with no oil leakage or immediate sinking risk reported. In response to the situation, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) dispatched three boats along with a surveillance aircraft to monitor for any potential oil pollution. Damage assessments were conducted by the patrol boat "SPN 15" (MMSI: 205387690), which was engaged with the "Ridgebury Kathrine Z". The vessel was anticipated to be released on September 22.
