On January 4, 2018, at 5:58 AM, the crew aboard the anchored vessel 'Ocean Mars' detected a breach when they spotted five individuals boarding from the stern. This incident occurred approximately 22.8 nautical miles off the coast of Pulau Berakit, located at coordinates 01°19'48N, 104°28'12E. In response to the alarming situation, the ship's general alarm was promptly activated, prompting the crew to retreat to the citadel for safety. Following the alarm, a comprehensive search of the vessel was carried out, confirming that the intruders had left without taking any property. Fortunately, no theft was reported during this attempted boarding.
