On August 23, a remarkable double naming event took place at the Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) shipyard in Guangzhou, southeast China. The Stena Imperator and her sister vessel, the Stena Imprimis, were officially named, marking a significant milestone for Stena Bulk. These two tankers, numbered 11 and 12 in a series of 13 identical IMOIIMAX tankers, are scheduled for delivery this year, with the final vessel set to arrive in January 2024. Each tanker is designed with impressive specifications, measuring 183 meters in length, 32 meters in beam, and boasting a deadweight of 50,000 tons. The newly christened vessels will enhance the operational capabilities of Stena Bulk as they continue to expand their fleet.
