Scorpio Tankers has announced a strategic move to enhance its fleet operations by reaching an agreement to sell and leaseback several key MR and LR tankers to AVIC Leasing. The vessels involved in this transaction include the 'STI Fontvieille' (IMO 50/2013, Hyundai Mipo), 'STI Brooklyn' (IMO 49/2015, SPP), 'STI Rose' (IMO 109/2015, Daehan), and 'STI Rambla' (IMO 109/2017, Sungdong). Under the terms of the deal, Scorpio Tankers will enter into a bareboat charter arrangement for these vessels, lasting for a duration of 8 years. Notably, purchase options will be available starting from the conclusion of the second year, allowing Scorpio additional flexibility in managing their fleet assets.
