In the early hours of April 30, 2021, a maritime accident occurred when the cargo vessel 'Sti Pimlico', which was en route from Mohammedia, collided with the LNH tanker 'Bilbao Knudsen'. This incident took place at approximately 4:30 a.m. in the anchorage area of Huelva, just as the 'Bilbao Knudsen' was departing towards the Gulf of Cadiz. The collision resulted in significant damages to both vessels, prompting them to drop anchor close to the site of the incident. The 'Sti Pimlico' sustained damage to the starboard side of its forecastle and lost parts of its starboard anchor’s flukes and crown. Meanwhile, the LNG tanker 'Bilbao Knudsen' experienced dents on its port side, in addition to damage to its deck railings. As of 12:30 UTC on May 1, both vessels remained anchored at their respective positions: the 'Bilbao Knudsen' was moored at coordinates 37° 5.49' N 006° 53.76' W while the 'Sti Pimlico' was positioned at 37° 4.73' N 006° 54.03' W.

Recent images and footage from Besiktas Shipyard in Altinova reveal the significant damage suffered by the tanker STI Pimlico, which is currently docked for extensive repairs after a collision with the cruise ship Celestial Crystal in the Dardanelles Strait. This unfortunate incident occurred on June 27, close to Gallipoli. While the Celestial Crystal experienced only minor bow damage, the STI Pimlico sustained severe structural injuries that led to a discharge of its flammable naphtha cargo into the surrounding waters. The upcoming repair efforts will encompass a comprehensive overhaul: replacing steel components, blasting and repainting the impacted ballast and cargo tanks, along with renewing damaged outfitting on the main deck, electrical systems, and piping.
