Fuel Filter Issues Encountered by STI Wembley Near Lizard Point
On April 28, 2018, at 10:54 PM, the STIWembley experienced difficulties with its fuel filters while transitioning between fuel types in the waters off Lizard Point, located at coordinates 49°39.8'N, 004°28.8'W. At the time of the incident, the vessel was loaded with a significant cargo, including 1,975 tonnes of styrene fish oil, 4,906 metric tonnes of fish oil, 958 metric tonnes of palm oil, and 273.1 metric tonnes of palm canal oil. Fortunately, the technical issue was promptly addressed, allowing the STI Wembley to continue its journey from Ijmuiden to Rotterdam, where it successfully docked on the morning of April 30.
