In response, the MPA has initiated coordination with local authorities in the region, including those from Ivory Coast and Ghana, as well as the Monrovia Regional Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre. To enhance search efforts, the Ivorian authorities have dispatched both air and maritime assets to the area surrounding the last known location of the tanker, which is situated about 300 nautical miles from Abidjan. Additionally, the Maritime Domain Awareness for Trade has confirmed that the 'Success 9' is currently not transmitting on its Automatic Identification System (AIS). Authorities are urging other vessels in the vicinity to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the tanker or any suspicious activities in the area.
