On April 1, 2020, at 07:20 AM, a maritime accident occurred off Yokohama when the tanker 'Sunrise Sambu', which was navigating from Yokkaichi to Ulsan, collided with the Japanese cargo ship 'Skikai Maru'. The incident took place below the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line Expressway, resulting in significant damage to both vessels. The 'Sunrise Sambu' suffered damage to its portside bow, while the 'Skikai Maru' experienced damage amidships on its portside. Following the collision, the tanker moored at Yokohama in position 35° 28.74' N, 139° 45.86' E, while the cargo vessel was docked at Yokohama port.
