The MV Ta’ Pinu, a key ferry operated by Gozo Channel, has officially resumed full service following significant upgrades. Equipped with two new hoistable decks, the vessel is now capable of accommodating up to 150 vehicles. Finance Minister Tonio Grech inspected the ferry earlier today and addressed recent concerns regarding incidents on Gozo Channel vessels. He confirmed that an investigation will be initiated in response to a ramp incident reported earlier this week. Additionally, he expressed regret over a situation occurring last weekend, emphasizing that a ferry should ideally wait no longer than five minutes post-scheduled departure. Paul Curmi, Chairman of Gozo Channel, highlighted that these enhancements are crucial in maintaining the ferry schedule while ensuring efficient service for passengers. The MV Ta’ Pinu had been docked for five months during an upgrade costing €4 million.
