In a strategic move to streamline its fleet, Reederei Claus-Peter Offen has finalized the sale of four of its medium-range (MR) sister vessels to the Danish shipping company TORM. The vessels, namely 'CPO Australia', 'CPO Malaysia', 'CPO Singapore', and 'CPO New Zealand', were built in 2011 at Hyundai Mipo in South Korea. Each ship has undergone regular dry docking, with their last maintenance checks carried out in April 2020 and between September to November 2021. TORM acquired these vessels for an impressive price of $20.75 million each, totaling a substantial investment in their expanding fleet. With this acquisition, TORM strengthens its position in the maritime market, leveraging the reliability and performance these sister ships offer.

In a prompt maritime rescue operation, the lifeboat 'Hermann Helms' from the DGzRS station in Cuxhaven responded to an emergency call involving a Lithuanian crew member aboard the 'CPO Singapore'. The situation arose on the outer Elbe, where the crew member, aged 47, experienced serious circulatory problems requiring immediate medical attention. The 'Hermann Helms' navigated approximately 27 miles north of Cuxhaven to reach the cargo vessel. Once on board, a medical professional was delivered to evaluate and stabilize the patient's condition. Following treatment, the individual was successfully airlifted by a Search and Rescue helicopter from the Navy and transported to a nearby hospital for further care. This incident showcases the swift coordination and expertise of maritime rescue teams in ensuring the health and safety of those at sea.
