On November 1, 2019, a serious incident occurred aboard the tanker 'Neverland Dream', leading to the tragic injury of its master. While navigating through stormy conditions associated with Storm Amélie, the commanding officer, a man in his 50s, suffered a broken leg after being struck by a metal structure when a powerful wave knocked him off his feet. At the time of the accident, the vessel was on a journey from Corpus Christi to Rotterdam, situated west of Brest. Following the incident, the Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) of CROSS Corsen mobilized a Caïman helicopter along with a Falcon 50 aircraft to reach the injured captain. They successfully hoisted him from the sea about 130 nautical miles east of Lanveocat at 3:30 p.m. on November 2, braving challenging weather that included winds reaching 32 knots and swells between 6 to 9 meters.
