Working Conditions Aboard the Vanessa

The Hong Kong-flagged tanker, AVA 6, has successfully navigated through the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz and made its way into the Gulf of Oman despite ongoing U.S. maritime operations aimed at vessels associated with Iranian ports. Departing from Al Hamriyah on April 15, the tanker transited the Strait of Hormuz on April 16, moving between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. The AVA 6 subsequently anchored at coordinates 24° 33' N 056° 46' E, in close proximity to Sohar Port, on April 17. This transit marks at least the second occurrence of a China-affiliated tanker making its way through this critical waterway since the U.S. military operation commenced.
