On April 21, 2019, an incident aboard the fishing vessel "2Vasiliy Golovon" in the fishing zone near Bjørnøya, Svalbard, resulted in a crew member losing a finger. The Norwegian patrol boat "Harstad" promptly responded to the emergency, providing crucial medical assistance. With a doctor onboard, the "Harstad" team administered first aid to the injured fisherman before coordinating his transfer to shore via another vessel. This swift action highlights the vital role of maritime patrols in ensuring safety within fishing zones. 

On June 28, 2015, the trawler 'Vasiliy Golovnin' encountered a significant setback when it became disabled due to a trawl entangled in its propeller, approximately 30 nautical miles from Bjørnøya. Responding swiftly, the Norwegian Coastguard deployed the patrol vessel 'Andenes' to provide assistance. A specialized team launched a boat with divers who successfully cleared the obstruction from the propulsion gear. Thanks to their prompt action, the trawler was able to resume its fishing operations.
